Jonathon Millar Wins First Grand Prix of 2008 Season
January 25, 2008
Jonathon Millar, sponsored by CAVALOR Canada, got the new year off to a strong start by winning the $25,000 Grand Prix held Sunday, January 13, at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center in Wellington, Florida.
Riding Fancy Hill, a 13-year-old grey Hanoverian mare by the famous sire For Pleasure, Jonathon was one of nine riders to post a clear round and advance to the jump-off. Over the shortened course, the pair had the fastest time, 42.39 seconds, to claim their first victory of the 2008 season.
Jonathon, 33, along with his father, eight-time Olympian Ian Millar, and younger sister, Amy Millar, will compete throughout the 12-week Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington. All three members of the Millar show jumping family are sponsored by CAVALOR Canada.
