John Anderson Named CAVALOR 'Athlete of the Month' for September
October 14, 2008 — Jump Canada has named John Anderson the CAVALOR 'Athlete of the Month' for September.
Anderson, 41, won the Leading Canadian Mercedes-Benz Car Award at the Spruce Meadows “Masters” Tournament held September 3 to 7 in Anderson’s hometown of Calgary, AB. The Leading Canadian Mercedes-Benz Car Award sees horse and rider combinations earn points throughout four Spruce Meadows tournaments and, following the “Masters” Tournament, Anderson riding Terrific had 467 points to finish well-ahead of runner-up Lisa Carlsen who had earned 349 points with Woody.
During the parade of nations held prior to the start of the $350,000 BMO Nations’ Cup, Anderson enjoyed a tour of the International Ring in a new Mercedes-Benz C230, his for one year.
“It is wonderful to be named as the Jump Canada ‘Athlete of the Month’ for September,” remarked Anderson whose horse, Terrific, is an eight-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding owned by Craig and Jan Maxwell of Foxdale Farms in Cochrane, AB. “To have a company like Cavalor supporting and acknowledging the athletes in our sport is very beneficial.”
