Yann Candele Named CAVALOR 'Athlete of the Month' for March
April 15, 2010 - Ottawa, Ontario – Jump Canada has selected Yann Candele as the CAVALOR 'Athlete of the Month' for March.
Candele of Nobleton, ON, produced the only double clear performance of the competition to lead Canada to its second consecutive victory in the $75,000 Nations’ Cup, Presented by CN, on March 5, in Wellington, FL. Candele jumped two clear rounds riding Pitareusa, a 13-year-old Dutch Warmblood mare owned Susan Grange. His Canadian teammates were Mac Cone, Eric Lamaze and Beth Underhill.
“The win in the Nations’ Cup was a fantastic result for Canada,” said Candele, 39, who previously represented France in international competition before receiving his Canadian citizenship in 2008. “We have a history of great team results in Wellington, and it was nice to keep the winning streak going.”
